Slot Classic was born in 1995 as the personal project of César Jiménez, a classic automobile enthusiast and veteran slot car collector.
The philosophy of the brand is to only produce limited numbered editions in order to bring back from oblivion certain automobile history wonders, which on account of their minority status have failed to find their place in the catalogs of large manufacturers.
After a number of years of vindicating the legacy of Spanish manufacturers such as Pegaso and SEAT, our earliest foreign brand releases were models of cars produced by Alfa Romeo, BMW, and Ferrari, which placed our company in the international slot car spotlight.
The new century brought about the consolidation of our company as a world class handcrafted slot model referent, consistently releasing sold out series, and having its history documented in a luxury three volume book series by the German collector and Slot Classic expert Uwe Kitza.
On top of this, our work has been recognized by the specialized media – for instance, we received the Mini-Auto spanish magazine 2006 award to the best resin slot model car for our CJ-26 Lancia Aurelia B20, as well as the award to the best slot car of 2018, given to our CJ-47 Alfa Romeo 2900B 8C spider by the United States website Model Car Hall of Fame.
Every single unit is made by hand, one at a time, at our facility in Mareo (Gijón, Asturias, Spain). In this charming location we provide the love and the necessary attention to detail required to obtain the highest quality standards – from the painting and finishing of the bodywork to the art of decorating the figurines one by one.
Each new release is a new challenge that forces to improve from model to model, often incorporating new technical advances.
After over fifty releases, our philosophy continues to be to make faithful reproductions of automobile history jewels which, in spite of not having been commercially viable for industrial production, they still deserve their own place in the best slot collection showrooms.
