21st of June of 1969. After a year of preparation under Fernando Villaamil’s direction (who was competition manager of FASA Renault), the first R8 ST Cup was born. Over the next 9 years, it would be the breeding ground of the best spanish pilots.
It was a simple formula: cars with strictly standard mechanics, harder and shorter suspension springs, special shock-absorbing system, bars and fire extinguisher. This apparently austere combination would produce lots of stunning races, with countless position changes and endless excitement.
Here is our tribute not only to this model, but also to the large list of pilots who drove it. With it, Slot Classic brings you the posibility of remembering these races with our 1:32 scale R8 TS.
