The model we are releasing this time is the long wheelbase version (Lungo) with Touring Superleggera coupe body which can be considered as the paradigm of the Gran Turismo from the thirties. Beauty and power like we have rarely seen again ever since. If we add a record book full of victories in several competitions, from the Mille Miglia to Spa Francorchamps, is not strange that the 2900B has gone down in history as one of its main protagonists.

More than ten years after its release it still stood as a terrible adversary, especially through the sufferings of the hard Italian road competitions, but also in such racetracks as Watkins Glen, far away from Italy. This new Slot Classic reference reproduces the unit that was used by Clemente Biondetti to beat the Cisitalia Nuvolari Tazio (available in our catalog with reference CJ-43) and win the Mille Miglia from 1947. This tough Italian trial put to test all the challengers but this beautiful Alfa Romeo was the final winner.

The emergence in the late forties of models with a more modern design, with higher specific power and, above all, less weight (ie Ferrari and later Porsche), relegated these pre-war monsters to the museums. However, they never lost its appeal and soon became classic items coveted by collectors who have preserved them as icons of such a unique era until today.
